If you plan to use your laptop for phone calls using the Voice over IP (VoIP) computer phone, it is possible to use the built-in microphone and speakers. However, the use of a headset is strongly recommended, as it will reduce echo and background noise and keep your phone calls private. Jabra and Plantronics offer headsets that have been tested and work well with Sametime Unified Telephony.
